about
"A Song" is the third and last single from "Chilling Inside" EP by This Kid Here. It is one of the most prominent songs on the record, demonstrating that This Kid Here can cause a big mess employing things usually asociated with indie rock (guitar, bass guitar and drums with some synth). The cheerful track climbs to highs showing all kinds of weird landscapes. Finally, it briefly runs through samples and synths, and guitar to end up with a mellow brass outro. "A Song" actually is one of the oldest songs on the record, but it evolved significantly during the year.
The B-side with a strikingly existentialist title shows the memorable drum and bass connection, already heard in "samker25 (laze in the sunshine)" getting a second chance to impress, this time with gloomy samples exchanged for soaring synth and a synth bassline exchanged for a bass guitar. It is perhaps the most "pop" song This Kid Here has ever released.
