about
"Track" was the first song off the "Chilling Inside" EP to be unveiled, and now it is released as a single. The song was written in January and the "Track (Version II)" is how it initially did sound, but the final version experienced a lot of adjustments. The genre of "Track" can be called indie rock, yet it is far from conventional rock music and only the amount of guitars and bass can help to save the case, but then, again, off-beat drumming makes it even harder to categorise this piece. It is meant to sound straightforward and cathartic (the break near the end), but sees This Kid Here failing to become a true indie rocker, again staying with his experimental tools. Compositionally, the song is terse and straightforward, but even then seems to be torn apart by lack of consistency. It was heavily influenced by alternative rock, indie rock, East India Youth and fellow Lithuanian ba.
The other B-side, called "Σ (Short Version)", is one of the newest songs by This Kid Here and represents, where he is now. The song is much more electronic, employing voice samples from field recordings and synth basslines it crushes into a wall of voices, controlled by delay. Synthpop and hip-hop influenced track stands in sharp contrast with "Track".
