about
Lead single off the "Courses" EP, "End Loop" is one of the most straightforward, direct and coherent songs on this record by This Kid Here. The main idea of the track initially was to use double-drumming: MIDI drums and "true" beats, pen-tapping. Yet, after long and sometimes meticulous work the song turned out to be far beyond such a narrow concept and now features various samples, bass, synth. The single offers two B-sides as well. Those are early unreleased tracks. Both were concept tracks- one, "Does (+ Synthgull chant)", was triggered by the idea of a long song with synthesizers imitating seagulls (well, it's pretty obvious that this attempt was a fail of sorts), while the other, "equateLine", is one of the first songs where This Kid Here had used samples. The sample contains footage of This Kid Here playing his only true instrument- pen-tapping on a notebook and a plastic bottle. Hence, the single and its B-sides was meant to show the more experimental and amateur side of the producer, but at the same time presenting his most clear and accessible effort.
